Montgomery Zoo hosts animal enrichment day

[TAKE :CU JORDYN]  {***CU JORDYN***}  [ReadRate:15]  Animal enrichment day was today at the Montgomery zoo and dozens of animals got new toys and treats!

 [TAKE VO]  {***VO***} While the zoo staff works daily to keep animals engaged... this public event shows visitors how animals exercise their instincts while in captivity. Through a series of trials and errors.. as well as lots of research... the Montgomery zoo has learned what sort of things its animals enjoy.

<"These are still wild animals. None of them have been domesticated. So, a lot of these enrichment items is just for them to be able to use their instincts. It's stalking, it's playing with things, monkeys like the balls, throwing things. So, it's just a matter of keeping their instincts in tune with what they're normally doing.">
