Auburn to pay former president for years

Former Auburn President Steven Leath may not have a job anymore, but he's still earning money from the university.

Auburn will pay the departed president 4.5 million dollars over the next three years, according to a separation agreement between the parties.

The university will pay Leath in 1.5 million dollar installments until 2021.

During the two years Leath served as president, he made 625,000 dollars a year. The separation deal covers the remaining years in his original 5 year contract.
